Any
Given Sunday…
…you
will find us gathered around the LORD’s Table,
proclaiming His death until He comes.
He
is Jesus Christ, nothing less than the Son of God.
We are His followers - nothing more than Christians.
We
are ordinary people from all walks of life. We have all kinds of struggles in
this life, but, since Jesus saved us, we have something else…
we
have…HOPE.
This
hope is not built on anything in this world, which is ending, but on Jesus’
blood and His righteousness, which is endless.
We
have learned that sometimes what we thought was the hard answer was actually
the easy one, and what we thought was the easy answer was actually the hard
one. What is important is that we ask the right question. You have heard the
question before, and have probably thought about asking it yourself. It goes
something like this…
What must I do to
be saved?
You
must know that to be saved is to have eternal life, and to have eternal life is
to have the one answer to all of life’s questions. That answer is Jesus Christ.
Since His resurrection He has been reigning from Heaven through His Church. He
will continue to reign until He comes for our resurrection. The Bible is where
you find out all about this most important of all lessons. Even though the
resurrection is for all of us, what happens after that will result in some of
us going to Heaven and some of us going to Hell – FOREVER.
The
LORD will judge each one of us by the WORD He gave us through His Apostles. If
that is the case, would you expect God to leave us to the “winds and doctrines
of men”? Don’t you think it is wonderful to be able to look in the scriptures
and check to see if that man on television, or on your doorstep, is telling you
the truth about God? Despite all the traditions of men, the truth of God still
stands as pure and powerful as the day when the LORD first breathed it into the
hearts of His twelve Apostles. And that means that the Church that Jesus
purchased with His blood is still listening to His voice today when we look
into apostolic teaching, which is faithfully recorded in the Bible.
Members
of the Finger Lakes church of Christ plead for a return to that original
teaching and urge you to accept no imitations. We can confidently show you the
answer to the question “What must I do to be saved?” along with the answers to
many other questions, from the Bible.
Come and see for yourself…
Come as you are…
But
expect to be changed!
